Mrs. Sheila McDairmant
Playschool Manager and Owner
Mrs McDairmant became the owner of Wetheral Playschool in 2003. She has three grown up children and two grandchildren. She holds a NVQ Level 3 in Child Care and Education and is the Designated Safeguarding Lead. She also holds a current first aid certificate and is the story teller of the playschool.
Mrs Jane Tinning
Playschool Deputy Manager/ SENDCo/ Eco Manager
Mrs Tinning has been at playschool for over twenty years. As a previously registered child minder she has lots of experience working with children. Mrs Tinning has three sons and three grandchildren. She holds an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, Learning and Development, has completed her SENCO training. Mrs Tinning enjoys walking, gardening and holidays with her family.
Mrs Jossie Findlay
Playschool Deputy Manager/ Spanish Teacher
Mrs Findlay has been at playschool since 2007. She comes from Peru and delivers Spanish sessions. She helps us all to incorporates Spanish in our every day routines! She teaches in fun ways using songs, puppets and videos, which we all enjoy. Mrs. Findlay is a Cache Level 3 Teaching Assistant and she also works at Cumwhinton Primary School After School Club. Mrs Findlay has two children and enjoys going on trips in her new campervan.
Pete McDairmant
Pete has worked at Wetheral Playschool since 2014. He has Level 2 Intermediate Level Apprenticeship in Children and Young People’s Workforce. He enjoys reading, yoga and running. He can often be found drawing or building.
Sandra Bode Fallahi
Sandra has been working at Playschool since 2022. She is very good at crafts and keeps us all sorted with decorations for different seasons and celebrations. Sandra is a German speaker. She has two children and enjoys time with her family and the sunshine.
Rosie Shimmin
Rosie has been working at Playschool since April 2025. She is a qualified German and French teacher with 12 years of experience in both mainstream and provisions for learners with additional needs. She moved back to Carlisle in 2023 after living in Bristol. Rosie has two children and two cats. Her son also attended our setting. Rosie enjoys fixing things, going to the cinema and walking in the sunshine.
All our staff are keyworkers for a group of students. We will let you know who is your child’s keyworker.
